Nepal

HERO began planning the first humanitarian trip to Nepal Trip in 2017. It took six years to plan and complete; due to a temporary hold, relating to the pandemic. HERO has been working with Elevate Nepal and the Kyimolung Foundation to make the mission a reality. HERO and its partners traveled to the Philim Village in the Gorka district of Nepal. This Humanitarian trip took place in February of 2023, where over 1500 residents received care. HERO provided general medical services, Acupuncture, and OB/GYN care in this remote mountain village. HERO also treated the school children for infectious and communicable disease, and provided each dormitory student with new bedding and multivitamins. The HERO team developed and established a Hepatitis B testing and vaccination program. HERO provided eye glasses to villagers in need, and updated the local medical post. The update of the post included updating medical equipment, and repairing broken equipment. These updates and repairs reduce the need for villagers to travel extensive distances to receive medical care. Repairs of solar water heaters, and water lines were also carried out by the HERO team.

Most importantly, HERO created a beginning. HERO will continue its work in Philim, and future humanitarian trips are already in the planning stages.
