Sustaining Health and Education Initiatives in Nepal:
Join Us in Making a Difference
Our mission to provide continuous healthcare to the remote villages in Nepal doesn't stop with our periodic visits. Throughout the year, we will be organizing Mini-Medical and Mini-Dental clinics to ensure that the people receive the care they need even in our absence. To make this possible, we need your support to fund the transportation of Nepali healthcare providers to Philim and cover the costs of the essential support staff. Our budget for three separate mini-clinics is $15,000.
Urgent Need for Digital Dental X-Ray
A crucial component for the success of our dental clinics is a digital dental X-ray machine, which will enable the dentists to safely and effectively treat patients. The cost of this equipment is $8,000, and its acquisition is imperative to improve dental care in these communities.
Ongoing Fundraising Efforts and Long-Term Programs
We have already begun fundraising to support our initiatives until we return in early 2026. One of our flagship projects is the scholarship program. This program is designed to nurture the talents of young people from isolated villages who aspire to pursue medical careers. We have identified and vetted several candidates currently training to be acupuncturists, who will return to their villages to serve their communities for 2-3 years after completing their studies. We are also interviewing candidates for pharmacy and laboratory technician programs. The cost to support four students, covering all educational and living expenses, is $20,000.
Hepatitis B Vaccination Program
Another critical need is the Hepatitis B vaccination program for the Upper and Lower Tsum valley villages. Each region requires $10,000 to complete the three-part vaccination series. This program is vital for preventing the spread of Hepatitis B and ensuring the health of these communities.
Training for Birthing Attendants and Menstrual Kits
Following the success of our recent lifesaving training for birthing attendants, we aim to extend this training to attendants from other villages. This initiative will cost $6,000. Additionally, we are committed to continuing our menstrual kit program, which has been highly beneficial for women in remote areas. The cost to purchase more kits is $5,000.
How You Can Help
We have laid the groundwork for these transformative programs, but we need your help to sustain them. Your contributions will ensure that these vital services continue uninterrupted, improving the health and well-being of countless individuals in these remote villages.
Join us in making a lasting impact. Together, we can ensure that the people of Nepal receive the care and support they deserve. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to this cause.
